FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
---
1. Where do the persimmons come from?
Our dried persimmons originate from Fuping County, one of the most recognized growing regions for hanging persimmons. The local climate, sunlight and natural drying environment result in naturally sweet, plump and soft-textured fruit.
---
2. Are these persimmons handmade?
Yes. Each persimmon is peeled, strung, dried, and refined through a long handcrafted process that lasts about 60 days. This slow curing gives the fruit its soft exterior and jam-like center.
---
3. Are the persimmons safe to eat?
Yes, they are naturally dried fruit with no additives. They are suitable for most consumers when eaten in moderation.
---
4. Are there eating restrictions or pairing suggestions?
For a better eating experience, please note the following recommendations:
- Avoid eating on an empty stomach.
- Do not consume together with crab, seafood or acidic fruits such as tomatoes at the same time.
- Avoid eating immediately after drinking alcohol.
- People with digestive discomfort should avoid eating too much at once.
---
5. Why do some persimmons have a white powdery coating?
That is natural crystallized sugar (glucose) formed during curing, not flour, not additives, and not mold.
---
6. Why do some pieces have less frost?
Artificial frosting is not used; frost appears as sugar reaches the surface naturally. The amount varies depending on drying pace, temperature and storage.
---
7. Why are there dark spots on some pieces?
Small spots appear when fruit peels are exposed to air. They are signs of natural oxidation and do not affect safety or taste.
---
8. How is the product packaged?
Each persimmon is individually wrapped for better hygiene. The product is shipped as bulk weight.
---
9. Storage instructions
| Method | Temperature | Suggested Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Refrigerated | 0°C – 5°C | Approx. 10–15 days |
| Frozen | -15°C – 0°C | Up to 6 months |
After thawing, the texture softens and the sweetness becomes richer.
---
10. What if a piece feels moist?
Refrigerate or freeze immediately, and moisture will stabilize. Slightly moist pieces may develop sugar frost after a few days of cold storage.
